the park is liberated from all structure
1/3
The new restaurant adapts to the urban pattern of the infrastructural buildings accentuating the edge of the public bath. The center of the vast green space is liberated from all structure in order to establish new visual and programatic relations within the park and to the lake. The shoreline is redefined with a slightly tilted concrete pathway extending the existing sandy beach.
The sitting area, laid out like a picnic blanket, consists of three concrete circles of different sizes. Isolated, stone-cut words by US artist Robert Barry are placed in specific locations allowing each individual to establish a personal relation to the site .
